    Buffalo Heat Shields

Picked up a Buffalo last year, sat in the garage until about a week ago. Threw a new carb on it, made some small adjustments and it is running great. I noticed tonight that the choke cable was melted a little, makes me think there may be a shield
Missing. Can you tell from this picture if it should have one?02D92AAD-64F2-42CB-A9AF-E02AC91AEE8D.jpg

The newer trucks have a removable heat shield over the muffler that directs heat out the side vent. Yours didn’t have it as near as I remember.

Thanks, the top of the muffler has 4 female threaded posts, I think I will make one to at minimum separate the motor and throttle group from the muffler.
