I know this is an old thread but I found hand pruning shears worked extremely well. The bottom "blade" is hooked and it pries in well then you just squeeze and it cuts the weeds.
I know this is an old thread but pruning shears work extremely well. The bottom blade is curved like a hook and pries into the weeds well. Then you just squeeze to cut them.
