Adair Pro Tracks PSI on Buffalo?

What do people run PSI wise with Adair pro tracks? I know the sag is supposed to be 1 to 1.5 inches but I would have to run my PSI pretty high to achieve that. Running 7.5 PSI is at least a 2 inch sag.... Ordered the whole kit- tracks, tires, rims from Adair.

I am running these on a 95 Buffalo Truck.

Doing a search on here most people seem to run under 5 PSI so I am trying to see if there is a magic group of people who run higher but don't post it.

Track tension dictates air pressure. Just try to run the same pressure in all tires so they stay the same circumference. I shortened my Adair’s on my IV so I can run a little less air pressure for a slightly softer ride.

I'm running 15psi with beaver dam hybrid tracks, tires are rated for 20 psi max, with the extra weight of the buffalo and then the payloads I carry, seems to work good for me, I also removed the front chains, it seems to turn alot easier with a little more power

Awesome guys, I appreciate the responses. I know we always try to run low PSIs, so having my tires at 14 to get the correct sag seemed weird to me.

As Tim mentioned I also removed the front chains. A lot easier on the drive train.

why is it recommended that your Adair pro-series tracks be run with only 1” track sag? Additionally, only your corner tires dictate track tension. But running any tires over 5 lbs should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. An overly tight track and/or rock hard tires is going to cause premature damage if you’re actually out driving that thing around, especially on rough terrain. I have seen guys break axle flanges and even axle shafts at the outer bearing when on rough terrain. A lot of the shock loading stress can be eliminated just by lowering air pressure.

The 1" track sag is what Adair recommends for their tracks (1-1.5). I lowered my tires to 8 psi and have a lot of track slap. I ordered some UHMW sheet that I plan on cutting and riveting where I need to protect the tub. So far I'm using the tracks for snow only, but when spring hits I will be using them in sloppy conditions. After that I will be going back to tires since we can't "off road" where I live.

I think Tbone9 is right on the money, shorten the tracks and drop your air pressure and things will last longer and the ride will be improved.

Thanks for the video. I will probably be going that route. With the snow kit I will actually have to remove a grouser but the ones near the hinges are close together anyways.
