    Amphicat 4 stroke swaps

Wondering what 4 stroke engines have been swapped into amphicats. I've read as low as 6.5hp. I'm swapping soon, and trying to decide on engines, I'm considering everything from a 7hp to a 15. I don't need speed, just want to make sure it has enough torque to crawl anywhere without changing the original gearing.

Hi Blake. I think u could fit a duromax. 16 or 18 single cylinder in it. U would have 2 take off the factory gas tank . 16s cost about 300 but Home Depot list the 18 for 325. Larry W on this site has a vid of his Attex with a 16 popping the front off the ground. Good luck. Mike

Thanks for the reply. I'm stuck between using a 7,9 or 15hp ducar. I have the "weak" 2 speed so I don't want to go with too much hp and break it haha. I already have a clutch ordered for a 1" keyed shaft, and an adaptor to go from 3/4 to 1", so my engine options are pretty wide.
