    Max IV Knocking in wheel

The knocking occurs whether moving left or right but not when braking. The knocking is in the rear driver tire and occurs at that tire no matter whether you’re going left or right slow or fast. I feel there is some type of spline connection that is slipping creating the knocking. The knocking is loud and sounds as if your striking the tub. Don’t know what may be involved. Looking for some advice or a known dealer repair shop near Buffalo NY. THANKS DonnyZ

one easy way to help eliminate possibilities is get the machine up off the ground and then see if you get the same noise . also while it's in forward gear listen for chain , bearing etc. noise . hope this helps . work the steering levers also while it's jacked up. johnboy va.

I’ve had several vehicles with rubber tracks and bearing cages that develop a loud pop in the axle. The fix was to unlock both outer bearings and re set lock collars in the opposite direction. Also the ones with flat center wheels get cracks at weld on rim that can creek or pop very loud.

If you are on facebook look up David Glogowski he can help you out, just south of Buffalo. Been into these for years, worked at the Max factory, raced and Vice President of the Buffalo based WNYATVA 6x6 club which you may wish to join for organized rides.

You can also try to contact him through here, member Littleg

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
