    2 Hustlers on the beach

6x6world member Sandcassle and I went beach camping this weekend. Had a great time and got lots of stick time. His Hustler is in pristine condition and that two stroke will get up and move.

I wanted to show my superiority in mud, which ended up with both of us getting stuck. It took us several hours to leap frog our way out of salt marsh muck. This mud was BAD!! As in step out of your Hustler and sink to your waist! But we made it, and his machine did real good! We had to pull each other out several times to get out of the bad area.

Sandcassle will post some video that I took of him soon. We GPS'ed his speed at 30+. Said he thought he could get more with a little tuning and a little more room to run. I drove it and that kind of power is addicting. Those things sound awesome when you are driving them!

Definitely had a good time...I know Sandcassle is tired, he drove a pretty long way there and back, hopefully he will feel like messing with the video soon. I did not see the video yet, but it should look pretty cool....as far as I know, this will be the only video of a two-stroke Hustler out there??

BTW, his set-up for drive chain tensioners looked superior to my later Hustler model. We need to get him to post some pics up. On the other hand, the late model T-20 shifters, and hold downs for the shifter pins were a big improvement IMO. However; he does have a factory split shifter...

Sandcassle's Hustler was much faster in person.....I think I overdid the zoom.

Love watching that. I just posted a link in the video thread of a 2 stroke hustler like mine with the 340 CCW. Does sandcassle's have a kohler? Did it do well in the mud with the 2 stroke? I was thinking of putting a 4 stroke in mine but would really like to leave it original if I could make it at least comfortable noise wise and knew that it would do alright in the slower type riding I plan on using it in with my family.

Yeah, his Hustler has the Kohler. We were laughing about the mud comparison, as well as comparison between my Vampires and his Carlisles. The truth is that it did just as well as mine in the mud.....as we both got stuck like Chuck in the only mud we found!!! Seriously, there was no graduation of the intensity of mud we found. It was either hard-packed dirt, or soupy gumbo that I sunk up to my waist in when I got out to push/pull my Hustler!

That being said....I think Sandcassle's machine would do pretty good in normal muddy conditions because it is much lighter than my Hustler. We could very easily pick the front of his up out of the muck and move it over.

I got to where I liked the sound of his....especially after I had grabbed a handful of the throttle. The only downside as I see them, would be having to keep the RPM's up and fuel consumption.

    Maybe Sandcassle will chime in??
