Old Max Serial Number/Date of manufacture

I am trying to register my 1970 something max but, I could not get the date of manufacture from RI based on the serial number. In cali, I can get restricted access if I have a 2 stroke manufactured after 2003 so, I want to see if there is any other way to prove the date or give some reasonable explanation ie: my serial is 5093 - is there any sort of date code out of this? Like 9th month of 73' or something?

Out of curiosity, does anyone else have an old serial number close to this that knows their date or at least year?

I have serial plates from a variety of early 70's models. Take a look at the address that it says on your VIN tag. If it says Recreatives Industries a subsidiary of WR Grace Company, and the address for the company is on French Rd. not Depot St. your machine is most like one of the first models, probably a 1970. These machines would also have ABS bodies. If you need any more help feel free to contact me.

It's depot street plus a faint "Big Max" impression so i would assume mid 70s.

I called RI and tracked down the first Big Max that I bought in 1972. I did confirm that my Big Max was the seventh one off the assembly line. I have the serial number down @ the shop. I'll e-mail it to you tomorrow.
