Do you think this would work in a Mac IV?

    engine

I would personally stay away from off brand engines. I had a gasoline engine that only lasted a year, and parts are very hard to find.
I don't want to go fast, I just want to go anywhere.

I personally have had great luck with off brand china engines. You can buy them at a 3-1 rate compare to other brand name engine. I have only own gas ones though.

    Diesel Motor

I think the motor would work fine. Probably not much speed with the 10 horse though, but the torque of this engine probably equates to a 14 horse power gas engine. You may want to contact Carrol Stream Motors, I contacted them and they quoted me a price of $2200 for a 20 horse horizontal diesel, torque probably equal to what you get from a 30 horse gas. That's a bit pricey at least on initial cost, but if you factor in three times the average engine life with a diesel over a gas motor, its a bargain.
