    Race/Event rules.....

Not sure I'm in the right forum for this question...but

After having watched all the videos of 2009 Philipsburg PA ATV Rodeo,
    damn that looks like fun.........
    .
Well.... now I'm not so sure I'm looking at the right type aatv!
I was going with a new 4stroker 8x8 for playing up at the lake.
Now I'm not so sure that going to these places with a used 2stroker 6x6 to haul ass and play in the mud with isn't what I want!
Looks like two different vehicles to me.
    .
Now I know your going to jump in and say.....buy both!
But remember this was the wife's idea to start with.
    .
What rules are there as far as, engine type, modifications to engine, gearing, etc to compete in these events?
    .
    thanks...ed

For Philipsburg, all you need is to wear a helmet. You can run with any modification you can make. All the amphibs run in the same class. At the Ashtabula races, all you needed was a rollbar, a seatbelt, and a helmet. There were different classes, 4-stroke, 2-stroke stock, 2-stroke mod, etc... Many of the 2 stroke racers you see are heavily modified with bigger engines, single racing seats, etc... Really, these machines are only limited to what you can do to them.
