    T-20 + suurface rust

Took the t-20 apart, humidity got to it, has that light surface rust on the drums, should i try and rub it off with a rag, say screw it, fill it with fluid and go and just change the fluid sooner, or....

If it's light, you can just rub it down with a little ATF on a rag. If it won't come off that way, run a little fine sandpaper (300 grit or so?) over them, and they should clean up fine.

I would recommend Scotch Brite over sand paper. You can't do much damage with plastic steel wool.

Scotch Brite will work as long as the rust isn't heavy. I like fine emery paper if the rust is thicker. No matter what you use, make sure everything's cleaned up really well with solvent or brake cleaner and blown off with compressed air before it goes back together. I usually dip everything in clean ATF as it's assembled.
