    Good deal the correct spring will give much better throttle response and allow a higher rpm setting.

    I'm hoping the spring is in tomorrow. I ordered it and will put it in and tach it to about 4250.

    Hey Mark, thanks for your advice. I added you as a friend if you don't mind. I'm pretty much at wits end. The last engine an 18 hp had no governer on it. The guy removed it. I've got all the springs on the governer now. I got one that goes as a tension spring and that is about an inch long. The other one is the one that attaches over the governor rod. So, I'm not sure what you mean when you say order a new spring?
