Maybe use brass brazing rod to avoid rusting? Stainless...expensive
Check the cooling fan. If the blades are angled it won't move enough air if it's turning "backwards".
A long, long time ago I had a genset with an air cooled V4 Wisconsin. I put a mechanical press gauge on it. The port was on the side of the crankcase. Seems like there wasn't much pressure. There was...
jpswift ...I devoured the info you posted on the Ratcliffe a while back...Thanks for doing the legwork.
Chris you pretty much described the Ratcliffe you gave me advice on last year. It has 3 hyd motors per side, in series. The pump is a tandem variable displacement driven by a 1600 cu in Subaru. The...
I'm guessing the slippage between tires/tracks will do damage to both. Wouldn't try plowing with tracks.
I have the same problem. Unless you use stainless steel (very expensive) rust will be a problem. I bought a few brass brazing rods (3/16") to try, threading the ends 12nc24, using stainless nuts....
That's an idea. I'll try the 500 watt on dc and see how it does. Been able to get in with a 4x4 this week. Maybe winter is over, I'll be able to work on it.
Yeah, I was planning to install a 500 watt heater anyway, could try feeding it 12 volts and it would be about 50 watts, nothing to loose. If it helps then could get creative with additional 12v...
Interesting idea about heat exchanger. Thanks. I'll have to open dash to see if there's room.
I don't know about 12v heater, though. Running a battery flat at low temps ruins them after a while.
I...
Not too much fun, actually. I need the thing as part of my work commute. I park it at the pavement about a mile away, so it sits in the open for about 12 hrs. I've got an electric block heater and...
Maybe I can contribute...I bought the Ratcliffe machine some were giggling about a while back. It's hydraulic. 6 wheel motors, 3 per side in series. Powered by a 60 hp Subaru engine coupled to a...
I would say Ratcliffe is not amphib.
