Adair's classic track costs less than some of their other models best I can tell.
A flat (like the bottom of a cowboy boot) piece of uhmw is very slippery on hardpack. Steel on edge on the other hand puts a lot more psi on hardpack, including rock. This is different from a plate of steel on its side on wet rock or ice for instance. Sled bottoms are flat, while "cleats" are not. Rock will frequently sacrifice itself a little under a piece of steel on edge. But don't get tracks based on ROCK. Rocks are just something you gotta put up with once in a while.
Adair's website has prices so you can compare prices between their different uhmw tracks. Certain tracks have different grouser "widths" and different materials used to connnect the grousers together.
Ask people who use their machines in the same way you intend to use yours..where you live. You'll then know what will work for you, and you know your budget.
You want adair to make you tracks, so call them up and have a discussion with them. They're closer to you, and they'll try to help. Do a search on the forum, you'll find plenty.
I'm in Alaska and severely biased towards elevated belt tracks. There are lots of ways to skin a cat.
Good Luck, I know you'll have fun once you're rolling, and that's all that really counts!

The Chanel Tracks do not have a website, they are made by Marcel forum name here of Patenteux. You can private message him, or he has videos on YOUTUBE search (chanel tracks). Marcel is very good to deal with and will not post very often because He whole heartedly follows the rules of this forum(no advertising).
