So, the seals showed up.
I’m skeptical they will work though. They are 41mm, but they seem loose on the pistons compared to the originals.

Price on these things is highly dependent on your location.
I could get somewhere around 4-5 grand for my 85 where I am, but more likey to be a couple grand in Ontario or Quebec, where they are...
Argo tracks are plastic. Both the regular width and supertracks.
I’ve got supertracks on my 8x8. Unstoppable on any depth of snow and pretty good on soft ground everywhere else. Absolute crap on...
I ordered one of the “superseded” ones. Supposedly a “one for one” fit.
Well, not exactly.
Close, but not quite. They may for whatever outer bearing argo is currently using, but they don’t fit...

Yep, tracks for snow. Tracks for swamp. Tracks for muskeg. It's the flotation they provide (ie; low point loading of generally 1lb per sq/in) that makes them great on soft, "sinky" surfaces.

Working on the same issue as we speak:

Pretty much just as maintenance intensive as the old ones. Chains and bearings are something to keep and eye on and to be checked at the beginning and end of the season.
The rest is regular...
if the electric isn't tied to the oil pressure to run (ie: no oil pressure, no fuel pump) then checking it is easy. Turn the key on and see if it makes a whirring noise or if fuel squirts out the end...
Well, the forum seems pretty dead these days. Oh well, people come and people go. C'est la vie.
Called around this am and nothing. Bearing supply places, tractor places and even tried a couple...
I’ve got a 1985 8x8 IC and the rh brake caliper is leaking.
The parts book lists a seal kit (160-01) but everywhere I try says “argo: discontinued”.
Theres a superseded part number for a...
30 years of SAR has left me pretty beat up. Pretty broken. I was the guy who could grab a 302 short block and walk across the shop with it. Now I struggle with a couple paint cans.
In the shop...

Double post.
Couple pics of the Argo out doing stuff that I built it for:

Got tired of the weather beating up the winch when parked outside so:

Well, I finally got tired of the foam mat (Think: yoga mat) I was using in the back of the Argo, over the aluminum rear floor.
It just wasn’t up to the task. It ripped easily, it slid around and...
Well, finally got tired enough of being rained on, snowed on and snow/rain inside the argo that I made a top for it:

Well, I "repaired" a wheel that was consistently going flat. It was rust on the bead surface and a round with a flap wheel and some paint sorted it out.
But, it made me think about something I've...
Been a while since doing anything to the argo. Got some tig welding done and more wiring.
Welded up a guard/splash shield:
