    T-20 drum wear

Has anyone seen this wear on outer drums and bushings? Everything else is in perfect condition. Bushings are wiped out. Grooves are deep.

I sleeve them and turn back to standard. The other choice is install new bushings that are always a few thousands under size. Polish the drums and fit them to the bushings. I use 4140 for the sleeve material to try and match the hardness of the original drum. Factory bushings require fitting to size. whipper posted a video on bushing install procedure.

Yeah, That's what I was thinking. I'll chuck em up tomorrow and make some sleeves from 17-4PH, and heat treat them.
    Thanks.

Pressed in new bushings and WOW! are they undersize, a full .027 undersize. Ended up just turning the drums and they cleaned up just to the bushing size. No sleeves.
