I just installed these custom ice cleats I made from stainless steel angle and attached with carriage bolts. They really seem to add traction. What do you think?

They look like they would work well.

Do they create an opportunity for the outer edge of the tread to split where the bolts are installed?

      Hey Augie

I have only a few hours of run time with these cleats and I have not had any issues yet. The tracks have a lot of give and bend to them and are not very brittle so I hope they wont crack. I'll post any problems I might have if they happen.

No major issues yet and they work great. I did notice that they guide the inside track guides towards my bearing extensions when I drive it on the concrete floors in my garage but this does not happen out side under normal use. Thr tracks lay flater over soft ground.

Augie: With the nuts on the tire side does that give good clearance to the tires???? Sorry, no pics....my ice cleats are not as wide and don't get near tires. (cleats came with the tracks)....Might go to your wider ones...look like they might grab better.

I ground the bolts so that they were flush with the lock nuts when they were tight. I have not had any tire wear from the bolts yet.
