Here's the power plant going in my Attex racer. It originally started out as a 400 JLO/Rockwell out of a Attex 400 Chief. I got some 440 5 port perfrormance cylinder jugs from Hydromike that bolted right onto the 400 bottom end. The engine has just been bored out and a pair of Wiseco performance pistons were installed.

I think you're right in the ballpark with that guess. When I saw a vintage AATV brochure with the statistics on the 440 JLO engine option (I believe it was Max) they were rated at 42 hp. I just put a slightly larger Mikuni carb on it, and had it bored out and put some Wiesco pistons so we'll see how it does. I'm hoping it should move my first generation Attex racer pretty well.
