Hot Engine Cover

Description: Since I have officially taken over Jennifer's Max IV, it was finally time to get rid of the pink engine cover. (Just one less thing to get picked on about at Busco this year. :D ) This is just a spray bomb job, nothing fancy and I'm ok with the way it turned out. It wasn't what I really wanted it to look like but it takes so much time to tape off that I don't feel like doing it again. I painted the engine cover red and then taped off the flames. Then I painted the remaining engine cover black. I was going to come back and airbrush a blue outline and points on the flames but that didn't show up well. If I had known this, I would have painted the black first and then the red so that I could have tips on the flames be pointy. Now though, they were squared off so I had to go back and tape them back off and spray them again which was a pain. It's good enough to get muddy though. :dontknow:

Description: After a few PMs asking how I mounted the throttle and choke cable I finally took a picture of what I did. Simple but effective. Ignore the temporary tach wire zip tied to the throttle cable.

Description: Jennifer takes her Max IV for the first drive and she didn't even get stuck once! Ok, so there's been no offroad test yet but it pounds the pavement good enough. We were seeing how it fit her. I've got a few adjustments to make but it's moving now.

Description: Here's a shot showing the new aluminum ceramic coated exhaust on Jennifer's Max IV. It turned out great even with me doing the pipe work. :D Thanks to McCoy for giving me a great contact for the ceramic coating with Airborn Manufacturing located in Denver, NC. They coat a lot of engine parts, headers, etc. for NASCAR and the racing industry http://www.jetcoat.com They can do complete exhausts like this one for around $125. Just an FYI, if you want to use them too I delt with Jay Barry (jbarry at AirBornUSA.com). Their phone number is 704-483-5000. Very nice guy.

Equus 8068 Tach

Description: I installed an Equus 8068 tachometer in Jennifer's Max. It is backlit and has three different color lights to choose from other than the standard color shown here. The tach picks up its signal through an inductive clamp on one of the spark plug wires.

Jennifer's Max sees the light of day!

Description: This is the first time that Jennifer's Max has been outside since going in for surgery. We're still not quite finished yet but at least we got to start the motor and hear the new exhaust. Still have to do some more remolding of the tub to get these tires to fit and I have to finish the mud flaps.

Description: This is the final test fit of Jennifer's exhaust in her Max IV. We fired it up today and it sounded really good. I haven't decided what to finish it with yet. I will probably go with a silver ceramic coat but I may just use a high temperature black paint.

Manly Engine Shroud

Description: I asked Jennifer if she wanted to change the paint on the engine shroud of her Bandolero motor and she chose a manly hot pink. I tried two other paints before this color and neither one of them were really pink. So it was back to sanding. Finally I had to special order this color and I think it's a decent looking pink. It matches her embroidered seat pretty well.

Exhaust bracket

Description: Since the muffler that i am using is fairly heavy I added this support bracket on the lower tub. It is bolted through the tub just like the factory seat belt brace is.

Remolding the lower tub

Description: Since this is an older body it is slightly smaller than the new ones (lower) so I am going to have to heat the tub up and remold it to fit the 26" Vampire ASX tires. This is where I am half way through the reshaping of the tub at the middle tire. It is the one that has the least clearance so I decided to get it over with first.

Suspension seat pedestal

Description: Here is a shot of how I mounted Jennifer's suspension seat on her Max IV. Since Jennifer is much shorter than I am and I hope that she will let me drive this one day :D I installed an adjustable seat pedestal so that we can slide the seat back and forth.
