Description: Here is a pic of the evil C-clip vs new clip. Note the evil clip does not have the removsl holes on the tips. Those holes makes it easy to remove the clip. No holes makes it darn right differcult, thus refered to as evil clips by some.

Homemade woodruff key

Description: I made a woodruff key out of 1095 high carbon steel. The size is 3/16x3/4, with the "bump" the curve of a nickel. I will test fit it next. Its for the secondary on the T20.

Broken bracket

Description: Here is my repair of a broken bracket, using a quarter-inch thick steel plate, twi inchers wide by ten inches long. I also added a shorter piece to the top to stiffen-strengthen to bracket where it bolts to the T-20. I don't have a welder, so I used bolts to install it.

Description: Canadian Zuk made this bolt tool. It akkows fir a straight hole to be drilled dead center of a broken bolt stud. It wroks excellent.

Rear T-20 mountiing bracket

Description: Here I made an upside down "L" bracket using 1.5" angle iron. The top end is fastened to the rear top bolts of the T-20. The bottom of the bracket is bolted to the main frame via drilled holes. I would have prefered to have the brackets weled, or even made as a single piece, but these are bolted together at the corner using two bolts. This idea to beef-up the mounting of the T-20 to the frame is from Amphibious Drew. He has a thread about it in the Max forum.

Description: Here I am testing the mounting bolts. Each one is about one-eighth too long and will be shorted. I bought ling bolts to be sure I get them to the correct length.

Description: Here I drilled a 5/16" hole. This hole was then tapped out to 3/8"-16 for the mounting bolts.

Description: Here I used a center punch to create dimples in the steel plugs. Pilot holes will be drilled, followed by a 5/16" hole. This 5/16" hole will be threaded to 3/8"-16.

Description: Here I cut the bolt heads off flush. This allowed the bolt studs to be used as steel plugs. These plugs will be redrilled to 3/8" holes.

Description: Here I am cutting threads for a 1/2"-13 steel bolt. The bolts are to be used as plugs. These plugs will be drilled foe a 3/8"-16 bolt. The original 3/8" bolts broke, and were messed up during an extraction effort.

Description: Here I drilled the 3/8" threaded hole to 27/64". This was to clean out the mess I made trying to extract a broken bolt. The hole can now be threaded to 1/2"-13. A half-inch steel plug will be inserted.

Description: Here I installed a cargo rack to the font of the Max IV using the winch mount as a base. I salvaged the rack from our old Kaeasaki 220 Bayou. Fits very well. Looks good. Note the fuel cap protector - the rack looks like it was taylor made for this machine.

Seat cushions soften the ride

Description: I added a few foam seat cushions to our Max IV. These soften up the ride. I took them out of a square personal floation cushion. These can still be used for emergency floation if we sink the machine. Note red flloation cushion- my back pad.
