Couldn't figure out why it was there and why it was just a straight hole going straight into the &quot;gearbox&quot;. I had no intentions of installing this pump in my build until I was 101% sure it would go the distance if req'd. Could not be sure of that til it was completely disassembled for inspection. This was somewhat intimidating since I could not find ANY info about what this thing may even look like inside. A lot of patience combined with a little common sense and a lot of experience (especially screwing things up!!) eventually led to the complete disassembly of the unit without destroying anything in the process. It turned out to be a &quot;weep&quot; hole for any water that my have bypassed the outermost and has now damaged the next seal in line. I will post a drawing as soon as I make one. I've got blocks under the fuel filler hole to hold the body slightly above the pavement allowing the rest to sort of &quot;droop&quot; hopefully while pushing the hood up a bit.
