This was an idea that cam to me when I tried to drive my Argo without tracks in the snow. As the snow built up under the tub my wheels eventually had nothing to push on and one side started to spin out. I could have just braked that side but seeing I was also pushing snow in front of My Argo I did not have an once of power to spare ..Now new Tires, Tracks or more horse power would have helped and so would have positive traction.

In this picture I placed a bar were I was thinking of putting a roller that would press against both discs of the brakes when left and right levers are forward, then release when either lever is pulled back .I was also think of a way to add an emergency/parking brake on the same roller that grange the left and right disc.

Before any says just get a T-20 there are many attributes I would be missing and would not want to do without.

High and Low forward gear range ,Extra seating , Wheel Flanges that are water tight ,front engine ( yes I like that but I know it is not for everyone), being able to put an outboard motor on the back.MAX does not make an 8x8,I know this is a 6x6 in picture but I will try it with this before I do it to my 8x8

If Argo had a posi transmission it would be my ultimate machine

Had saying this I would like to add a Max in my fleet some day if I see one for a good price. I will not past judgment on the Maxes I have tried so far because they were poorly maintained.

Oh ya I forgot to mention I do not like the single link chain in the T-20 drive sprockets .I is more impressed with the twin link chain .I am even more impressed with the triple link chain on the wedge ( not a t-20). There is allot more but I felt that one was an important issue because one of the used Maxes I looked at had a problem in that area that could have been prevented with double chain . I know Max is not the only one with a T-20 but the only ones I see for sale in my area with a T-20.

There was a Max IV on eBay once with a three speed transmission. This seemed very interesting just add double sprockets and this would be a great if it was based on the T-20or any posi drive transmission

I think a air locker on the diff that released when one of the levers are pulled would be awesome.

I like the Idea, Next best thing to an Airlocker(If that could even be done). Any progress yet? Any thought of seperate wheels outboard of the sprockets that could be thicker for better grip on the locker shaft?
