Greasy mess

Just pulled handfuls of black grease dirt and sludge from the lower tub.found a screw driver,Alan key,and a chain link lol
Can't wait to clean all the @&$& out of it

Simple green/super purple and a garden hose has worked for me too.

They will suck the oil right out of the skin of your hands so you might consider gloves of some sort.

I have used this to clean boat bilges. It's biodegradable......although nothing else in your Argo tub is.

Get a couple gallons of super purple from the local auto parts store. Put it in a pump sprayer that you would use for round up in the yard. Spray everything you can get it inside the machine and let it sit for a few minutes. Then pull it up on the bank so that the front tires are higher than the rears (drain plugs downhill) and rinse it out with a garden hose. You will need to spend a lot of time rinsing. Once it's dry properly lube everything

This works for me. Never had any problems with everything getting wet. Soon as you oil your chains back up the whole thing gets an oily coating back.

depends how dirty it is, but I like to pull chains, soak/stir/brush if needed in bucket of diesel, use a roll of paper towels and wd-40 or other available thin oil, spray down the frame/belly pan then wipe down the floor of the chainwells (you can get everywhere front/rear with the chains out). You want the frame to stay oily to protect from corrosion. It's harder to do that if you degreased and got everything wet (not to mention the mess). You're just trying to prevent a build-up of water or dirt/debris that the chains have to go through and that the frame has to constantly have sloshed all over it. Ideally, you would clean up any flaked paint or rust (usually on belly pan because it has standing water that penetrates paint chips), prime/paint, then coat with oil.
Nitrile gloves are handy if you're doing serious cleaning. Oily but clean is good in an argo.
wd-40 or the like and paper towels/small rags works great to clean up because you can literally grab handfulls of greasy sludge/leaves/whatever. Small toothbrushes or even small screwdrivers to pick out small areas help too. Be sure to wipe down brake discs really well when you're one. I like to do that part with the machine off the ground and the tranny in Neutral so I can just turn a tire and hold a rag on both sides of the disc to get it completely.

Pull the chains and scrub with a small brush and some bio-degradable pressure washer soap. Pressure washing that close to the bearings makes me nervous.

Jay Leno has a wonderful grease eating algae for that. Just fill up the tub and pull the plug a day later

Ok will pressure wash work good for the body? And thoughts on removing trans to clean trans and engine and engine compartment ?

Take it to the coin car wash and blast it out. If it's really bad use some foaming engine cleaner. Be sure to rinse everything well before applying fresh lube.

We all have had this problem once or twice or it is probably happening now. Grease build up in your tup you know a mix of sand,mud,water,grease,wd 40 ,rust check, oil,gas everything amaginable! How can I get all this out of the tub and more importantly off the tranny and engine?
