In another thread I mentioned that I considered installing a dial-a-jet on my conquest. I chatted with the folks that make dial-a-jet a couple of times, viewed as many pictures as I could of installs, and perched above the hood and pondered just how it can be installed on a FD620D carb.
I don't know.
In searching for examples I heard rumors (through forums) of a couple of folks that have done such a thing but find no descriptions or pictures.
You see, the barrel of this carburetor seems to be fully surrounded bythe float bowl. I can see how one would need to drill and tap a fuel source for the device but cannot figure where the injector (for lack of a better term) tube can access the barrel and leave the device in a position where it can be accessed. You probably could put it inside the air cleaner (with glue) and have the tube drop fuel just above the choke but I can't imagine that ideal as it would affect the airflow in the air cleaner and perhaps not get some necessary flow effect due the venturi actions inside the barrel.
So I decided I would get a set of jets and swap them when needed.
If anybody has a description or picture of such an install I would appreciate it.
John
[Edit] Correction - When I first looked at doing this I looked at the carb without checking out the exploded parts diagram. I saw two screws at the back of the carb which each had anti-turn springs. I assumed they were for adjustments but later found that the port side screw is really the drain. So, if considering the dial-a-jet you will have a ready fuel source.
