aint that the truth.funny this thread re-emerged.just seen 4 big ones dead on the road.thats four less then my hound will get into.

they dont hibernate,just slow up.rarely wander far from the den,easy to find them in the winter.just follow the poopy smell.

That's one I never thought of. I'm no expert on Porkies, but don't they hibernate?, do they come out on warm days in the winter?
Good thought though, I'm going to look a little closer the next time I go by there.

ive seen porcupines out in the middle of december when late season moose hunting. to tell you the truth im not sure if they do hibernate or not. ones i seen must have gotten hungry if they do.
