Its Liquid cooled. Stated weight is dry, excluding radiator ,exhaust and air box. The only reason i ask is because the motor including starter + alternator would cost me only €280.
I don't really intend to be in the water but it would be cool if i could.
A very compact little Diesel motor.
what do you think ?

Well I can see that you are across the pond,so about 600 ish dollars cheap by any standard for a diesel,I think it would make a very interesting build,if you are not wanting to beat any speed records it would certainly be a strong performer,if you keep it around 90 kg or less,you might have to add some weight to the back in water to level it out a little,I would do it.

I have been offered a Kabota D722 3 cylinder 20 HP MOTOR.
It weights 65KG.
Anyone know how would this be, weight wise compared to stock motors ?
is it to heavy ?

So thats in and around 143 ish pounds,is this a liquid cooled I assume so,if so you have to take into account the rad and supports,is this 65 kg with stater,alternator,like turn key ready to run or what,65kg is not bad for weight but what is the total ready to run,a couple hundred pounds would be heavy,what are your uses for this machine,will you be using this in the water a lot.

I didn't buy this machine, I swapped a small hand built car trailer for it !

Really didnt call it a model back then it was just a Argo 8 wheeler,magnums,conquests,frontiers,Avengers what have you were much later models than that one,the good news is you can put any engine in there that you want,the only thing that limits you is your degree of mechanical ability and parts are still available.NCT

yeah it "had" the 2ams motor, and does have them axles..i wish the motor was runnable i love 2 stroke. so instead i have a 13hp diesel im workin on installing..bummer is im sure it wont be as fast but should haul the shanty rather well!

Thats too bad that Kohler worked well it was still built here in Ontario then in Mississauga,then the engine plant moved sate side,still a ton of them motors out there,Mercury trail twister used them with twin carbs they worked awesome,as jasonk says lots of old sleds around that are adaptable,wish I had my 2 stroke back for a toy.NCT

If you really want a 2 stroker keep your eyes peeled for a $100 snowmobile. I bought 2, a 71 panther, 71 puma both with Arctic cat T1A400's. The kohler 400 K3992t 440 were in the old john deere i think.

My best guess on that is it was a 2 stroker judging by the exhaust box,more than likely a 440 Kohler and the machine would be a late seventy,s.NCT

i am real new to these as well.. i just picked up a 78' 6x6 looks identical..my trans says 4022 H had a 2 stroke kohler in it! I wish i could help more..but i am kinda looking for some info as well!

Hey fish yea that 78 you got has it got the 11/4 five bolt axles,which it probably has was near the last two strokes they made probably had a 440 2ams motor they were a blast had one miss it tons.NCT

My 70 has round headlite bezels & i seen 78 or 79 used the square ones like on yours. On the earily 70's they used a single chain & sprocket on the drive/brake discs to drive the main jack shafts. If it's a K3992T motor the year is cast stamped on the underside of the heads but you'd have to remove them to see it.
