I would place an oil cooler for each side in the hydraulic lines, as these things heat up quickly when being worked. Yes it could work but the results that you are looking for might not be the best fit for lawnmower hydro drives. Are you planing to have all 6 wheels be driven and operate like a skid steer for turning?

From a zero turn mower yes? would work but you'll never get any kind of speed out of it..
