Very Nice! Looks like a lot of thought went into that machine. Hope it rides as well as it looks.

Really nice looking machine. This could cause me to build my Hustler for the hare scramble next year.

I agree with the rest of the guys,,,, this is a sweet build! You have already done sooooo much to your machine, and one would almost think that there is nothing else to do,,, but then someones mentions "air-ride"!!!????!?!?!? Which is a great idea, but I wonder how much more $ will that take this build up to for the added parts. Its still a great idea, and I know that if you don't do it, someone else will!! I can't wait for the first shakedown video,,,, I bet you probably could take flight with that 503!!! Again,,, Great build!!!Originally posted by bugeyed_99 View Post

Airide now your on to something. Also airbags would help be buoyant and possibly a little more stable vs heavy coilover shocks. It might be bouncy though you think?Originally posted by Noel Woods View PostI was wondering about that as well. It looks really trick. Yes the ride is getting to be a concern as I get older, don't seem to recover as quickly as I did a few years back.
A suspension would do it but I'm considering an airbag kit made for a ZTR mower.

I would kill for that machine if it still had fast swimming ability AND a smooth ride. Wow looks great though you really pulled it off.

Hello ALL
After months away from the forum to handle personal issues I am back!! We decided to hang on to the springer and it is now time to finish my project and post some vids. I did a little work during the months, added new sprockets, chains, and drive belt just got the engine mounted in this morning, next is gas tank and try to figure out those darn chain tensioners as its been so long since I took them off I don't remember how they go. Hope to be on it by the first of the year.

I love the springer machines, their low-slung look reminds me of Indy Cars for some reason. Watching Whippers ride along videos have had me throwing body english while sitting in my computer chair many times, so I can't wait to see the Bugeyed (OMEGA-I agree) ripping up some trail. I was only wondering if any of the springer builders had considered building in some adjustable lift on their machines. I can see a definite advantage to having the ability to adjust a machines ground clearance to fit various terrain as needed, air shocks would fit the bill perfectly on these machines, so this is something I would do if I were to ever build a springer. A 12vdc lightweight compact air compressor for air supply, small pressure tank (optional), some tubing, and six shocks...Last edited by Mike; 08-14-2013, 05:59 PM. I shall call this OMEGA because this is the end game for hustlers in my book
