Better bench seat cushion for Mav IV

We actually make / redo seats for folk, mainly fairground / industrial type seating. Go to your local foam converters / stockists and just sit on some to try it. You'll probably want something like 5lb recon (chipfoam) with a 1" layer of softer foam on top.
When you have the foam you want go to a local tarpaulin makers and get it covered in 650gm pvc, truck tarpaulin spec.

It will be comfortable and last for ever.

Pity you're not a little closer, it wouldn't have been much of a job

Keith... Thank you for the information. Interesting set up with those red flat springs. Where does one find them? Are they homemade from truck springs or can they be bought from a store?
It looks like they might add a few inches of height. A few inches would have to be removed from the frame to compensate.
How do these do with two people sitting? I guess they would be stiff enough or whats the point. Anyway, cool simple idea.

Springs are used International Cub Kadet seat springs I bought on Ebay. They were red when I got them and I just left them that way. With just me its a little stiff (I'm just over 200lbs) But i have felt it bottom out once or twice. With two it seems pretty good. It sits 1.5-2" higher but that allowed me to heat the body and remove the depression for the seat and gave me more clearance for my tracks. Sitting up just a tad also seems to give me better leg room and not feel crouched when driving. I did a write up on this some time ago I think but I might have just added it to another thread not put it in a thread of its own. Also check my galleries for stuff I modify but do not start threads on. I have been trying to curb my enthusiasm for things on the forum as it seems to cause other members distress at times.

Kieth I wish I had seen this last week, the Buffalo with 26's beat my butt and back all weekend at Busco, simple yet effective ( I imagine) cure to the IV/Buffalo front seats body shock.

There are a couple of designs on the forum that modify the existing bench seat into a suspension seat. Otherwise the dense marine grade foam used by Argo is kind of pricey and by the time you get the seat recovered in marine grade vinyl for an extra inch or so over the stock Max IV thickness it adds up around 350 pretty quickly even doing it yourself.

Hello. I am looking for a better bench seat cushion for our Max IV. I did a search but the suggestions speak of suspension seats and such.
I've got to maintain a bench seat for the wife and I.
The Avenger we had last year had an awesome cushion but the.going cost is $350.00. It might be a last resort.
Anyhoo... Is there a better cushion that you guys know if simular to the firmness of the Avenger seat that costs less then 350?
