Homemade Windshield for my Max IV

when I put the Lexan windshield on the Mule I drill holes in it.
Inserted rubber grommets in all holes. Then bolted the winshield to the rops using a big metal wire tie type clamp, that was rubber covered. Then I also used a little plastic washer under the screw head that allowed a plastic cover to snap onto the plastic washer hiding the screw head.

While it will crack, as long as you pre-drill the holes, plexiglass should screw in fine. I used that on my sand rail and it held up great for years. I just used screws that had a rubber washer on them.

Lexan is general electrics trade name for polycarbonate resin thermoplastic.
If that isn't a mouthful for hard plastic.
It will scratch kinda easy, but is very hard to break.

doin't know about that 1/8 lexan is right tuff stuff .i was goingto use the poly but the glass shop suggested lexan .i have hit some trees with it and it's not broke .

Fuller, I also made a windsheild for m maxIV. I used an old camper awning, (the aluminum frame work). I took a channel and screwed it to top lip just above the gas cap. Then purchased a 1/4" piece of lexan, around that I used channel. i set this frame into the channel I secured to the body. and layed the top against the rool bar. To secure it I made 2 u channels that fit over the roll cage but allows the body to flex in uneven ground. For the bottom I drilled 2 holes treaded 2 bolts with nuts on each side so they can be tighten against the windshield frame. t tworks very well in blocks the cold wind here in NY. In the summer it is easily removed, with only the rail left on the body. ( You could really remove this but it's not in the way).
