Looking at a Sierra

Ended up not going to look at it. I bought an Attex Thunderchief that same weekend.

That was a GREAT move buying an Attex. I'm sure you're going to be very happy with it after you get it all done.

This is a Attex Chief in youngstown. Its an ABS machine, but its got a nice big 2 stroke in it. You could sell the 2-stroke and put a four stroke in it if you want. The busted axle is no big deal really, and I am sure you could find the coil if you wanted to run it. It will put brown marks in your under ware. attex 6gwheeler

Here is a Hustler with a half cage in Mansfield. I believe the PO was asking $800 for it at one time so you can probably talk him down a bit on the price. Its also got a decent sized 2-stroke, but could be converted to a four and would accept some larger tires.6x6

Both machines aren't perfect, but have a t-20 transmission, which is still produced today. It is also a very, very brute tranny. We would love for you to get into the hobby by getting yourself a new toy, but the wrong machine can ruin the hobby for you. Trail bosses had very thick HDPE bodies, and it's rare to find one busted up...so if that one is, you know it has been beat on.
They were all 2 strokes, came with 18" tires, but did have the counter rotating transmissions. As I understand it, the transmissions are not weak, but most got abused. Going forward to instant reverse is hard on any mechanism...and you can do it in a trail boss. Thinking about it, if I were a kid again, that is exactly what I would do...not knowing any better. Then I would have had a broken toy that my dad would not have fixed, so, no more toy

The big drawback is the limitations of the 18" tires. Someone should figure out a mod for that.

My advise is don't. An attex, max, or hustler would be better.
