    Thanks for replys, think I will leave it, a lot of money to spend then try and find the clutch, would of liked one that's a straight change over. Lol

    depending on what taper it is there are clutches out there that may fit it, i use tapered PTO vanguards alot with a CVT drive clutch

    Briggs made a few different tapered PTO's but they were not used in these machines, if it is tapered then its a transplant.

    All Briggs were 1" straight with a key, threaded for retaining bolt.

    wiggy , just pulled my max 2 16 h.p. briggs and it is a straight shaft, 1''. johnboy mines a 2001 also.

    Hi Guys
    Please can you tell me if the Briggs engines in the Max II 2001 model are a Tapered output shaft on the 16,18, etc Hp engines?
