well i have a 18 hp kohler in a 1988 8x8 and it wont charge i checked the stator and its good its putting out 38v ac i took the regulator out and got it checked and it checks out good but when i put it all together all i get is 12.48 v dc even when i rev up the engine it looks like its the regulator but it checks out good anybody have an idea what it can be. please help im going crazy trying to figure this out
