Tire Direction ?

I had recommended the same config. to member ssbplumber on his HDI, mainly due to the 4th tire being so high in the water.

When I run just tires, I do this ^. 1st, 2nd, and 4th tire on "Backwards" and the 3rd tire on "Forwards". I can get almost full swim speed in forward, but can still back up while swimming with the 3rd set mounted backwards. Might sound a little strange, but it works.Originally posted by Dan67 View PostAlso another reason to have a set a pair mounted "backwards" is so that you can swim somewhat in reverse. If all your tires are mounted the same direction for swimming trying to backup can be very difficult.

If you intend to take your Argo swimming then mounted backwards, the way they came from the factory, is the way to go. If you never go swimming and are looking for maximum traction then reverse them.

So your saying the front 2 will dig up the ground and the back 4 will cup it and ride on top ?
Sounds like it should work ??

I run my dirt devil tires like that on my maxII with the back four V facing back and the front two facing forward for traction, the main reason for doing this was they seem to swim a little better in this configuration. I have read on the forums that other brands of tires work better in this configuration also not sure of the brands though.

Tire Direction ?
Ok I have been into AATV's for some years now and know the reason for running the V treads in a Backwerd direction. It is for Flotation and keeping the machine up on the top.
But latly I have seen guys running there tires forward ? Or the front to forward and the other 4 in reverse ??
Did I miss something ?? Lets here your input on this if you will as I think it would be a Great discusion.Tags: None
