Hi, I have the same transmission in my model 0079 Amphicat. Currently it is broken down and I am looking for transmission parts. According to the manual posted here on the site I need either part number 510642 Ring Gear Ass'y RH of 510749 Ring Gear assm'y LH. I think it is the left hand one, since the drivers side is broken.
What I need to know is where I can buy the part. I tried Richard's Relics and he does not have the part. I tried him before reading on here that he should only be used as a last resort.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Jim

I don't know Amphicats that well, but it sounds like this is the Borg Warner unit that the came in the model 0079 Amphicats. It's quite common actually and it shouldn't really be too big of an issue to locate parts for it.

Borg Warner Amphicat Transmision
Hi guys. I have a trans from an old Amphicat. I read that it is a Borg Warner but know nothing about it. Never had it going. It resembles a T 20 but has no ID tag or info on it. Very heavy. I want to put it in a Scrambler. Can anyone tell me what it is and if I can get parts for it? It has a multiple clutch disc for each side of the drive and all enclosed in a sealed case, similar to the T 20. It's not the later two speed with external clutch/brake set-up. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.Tags: None
