Richard's thicker bands

Is there a trick to installing the U channels with Richards bands? I can barely get a thread or two started and there's no way the adjustment tool will fit under the bolt heads. Should I just get longer bolts?

Longer bolts just an additional 1/4” inch should do. I see different length at times from the factory.

That's what I ended up doing, 1/4" longer seemed to work perfect. Appears to have adjusted correctly from what I read on Richard's site and the Borg Warner manual.
