Argo Adair track information (started for 2021 6x6 650 Frontier)

Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and the UTV world. I just purchased a new 2021 650 Frontier 6x6 and also purchased Adair Mud pro 14.5 tracks for this machine. I had a question back to Adairadventure about typical tire pressure settings and their tracks. Below is the information I got directly about the Adair tracks on my machine. I thought others may benefit from this information too.

Direct quote from Adairadventure; "The Mud pro tracks usually when new require 6 or 6.5 psi in the tires to achieve a 1 - 1.5" sag under the middle tire with one side of the vehicle elevated so no tires/tracks are on the ground. Measure from the tire tread to the grouser and you want 1" min and 1.5 max of sag/distance. Adjust air pressures to achieve this proper tension."

I hope this helps others with a similar type of question.

Good info- Be sure to post what you like and dislike about the tracks. Would love to hear about your experiences in different terrain. I’m thinking about the Adair’s myself. I really like the beaver dam but man they look like they can do some damage. Both nice track systems nonetheless. Good luck with your tracks and machine. I just picked up my 600. Liking it so far. Fun machines.

Will do. I am looking forward to the upcoming spring as I have some cattail marsh property that will be giving the Frontier with the Adair tracks a good workout. I know without an Argo, it's one heck of a work out for me to slog through the "swamp" on foot. Hope to have some fun in the Argo and not be exhausted at the end of the day of "swamping".

Just have your winch and a long tow rope, ready. I have never had luck with swamps. This Argo is my last resort. Lol..

You will do fine in cattail marsh as long as you have a set of Adair's on.l would carry a sand anchor into a marsh just in case I got stuck. If there are no trees around you can hook your winch to the anchor throw it out and pretty much pull yourself out.

If your tracks start to spin in a marsh, don't panic, ease off the throttle, let the machine settle and then ease on the throttle. About the only way you can get stuck is by a high center. In marsh you can always back up and get another run.

Are the Adair grouser bar with recessed belt seem less effective than the argo 18 inch rubber in swamp soupy mud.....am I wrong?
How about for swimming? The Adair seem much better in water. From what I see the Adair is quite a bit less money too. Thoughts?

The ice just came off our lake this past week and I took my Frontier 6x6 in with the new Adair Mud Pros tracks to swim. I had not had the machine in the water yet (it's new) so my machines with Adair Mud Pro tracks is my 1st experience in deep water. To be honest. It's not much of a swimmer. I'm glad the wind was calm as I would have been easily blown out to sea. If I go swimming with this machine with tracks on it's going to be a short distance to ford or cross as there's not enough control with the tracks to swim very well. My very brief experience with tracks and deep water is "slow is the way to go". I think I'm going to be sticking to mud and cattails as much as possible over floating in water with tracks on. I am curious as to how this machine swims without tracks but that'll have to wait for another day.

Let the tracks paddle in the water, use low range to produce power and slow the tracks down, lean froward on the machine so the rear tracks lift out of the water, keep both tracks turning at all tines and steer the machine by leaning left and right, never try to turn with the handle bars. If you have a passenger put them in the back and have then stand up and lean left or right to steer the machine. Never go into a stream or moving water. If you do all these things you should have a swim speed of about 1 1/2 MPH. I have crossed the lake at Busco several times with in my 6x6 with me and my son on board. The wheeled machines beat us across but we were able to cross with out issues. My 8x8 Frontier would move in the water over 2 mph but the larger 8x8's and 6x6's move about 1 1/2 mph
