Ok, several issues here:
Headlights: You can purchase direct fit replacements at Harbor Freight tools or Auto Zone....I think they call them tractor lights or utility lights, something like that, but they come in a black housing. Take your old lights for a size comparison. Just remove the black housing and they will fit right in the current rubber housing you have in your Hustler.
Ignition switch I ordered from Richard Clark.
Taking on water....hopefully someone else will chime in. My story is that I just replaced all of my outer axle bearings, faithfully following the instructions and tips in Mike's axle bearing replacement article, and I was still taking on water yesterday. I'm at a loss..bottom line is that if your bearings are in good shape, wire up a bilge pump and don't worry about it until it is time to change your outer bearings. If you have it in the water, vaccuum out the water in the tub with a shop vac when you get it home, and either clean/re-lube the chains, or spray them good with WD-40 until you do.
EDIT: You will most likely have to take the top off to access the ignition switch and wiring easily.....it could probably be done without it. But if your husband has air tools it is easier to take the top off.
