Hustler 950 vs. 980 (pics)

Here's a few pics of my Hustler next to the one Mudbug just bought. Good find Don! I really like this 980....

They're lots different side-by-side, aren't they. Is the 950 in as good of shape as it looks?

The 950 is mine.....aside from the caked on mud, it's good to go

The Bigfoot is in good shape...the guy did a really good job for his first time out. But pretty much everything is new on it, I would feel comfortable taking it out as is.

Oops- sorry, I was thinking someone bought the 950 with the tracks, but I guess that would have been quite a drive for you guys.... I didn't know you had a 950 as well.

That's not a bad looking Bigfoot, either.

Cool

? What size are the tires on the 950? they look like they almost touch the tub....any rubbing when riding? how much air is in them? beefy looking tread too...

boncrshr ,

There sure is a substantial difference between a Hustler 950 and a 980 is,nt there . I also noticed a big difference in the height between the 25 " Vampires on your Hustler 950 at 3 psi , when compared to the 26" Bearclaws on the Hustler 980 that were pumped up to 10 psi when you got it.

Hey Reb,

Those tires on the 950 are 25x13-9 Vampires at 2psi. They barely fit...however; they really made a huge difference in mud performance and ride.

Hey Klog,

The 980 was probably made somewhere between 82-85.

Hey Mudbug,

Yeah, that thing is big and bad looking. I measured the tires on it. They measure 25" tall. There is about 2.5" between the rear and center axle.

klogtruck ,

Some one can correct me if I,m wrong , but , I think the 980,s were made up into the mid 1980,s ? Maybe some knowledgeable Hustler owners would care to comment on this ?
