Sound off with your Max type, Serial #, and Year

I just wanted to start a thread for those memebers trying to figure out their Max II, Max IV, or Buffalo make/year/model. I was able to find out from the factory that and Max II's with a Serial# of 15533 and above have splined axles and were made about the end of 98 early 99. Any Max IV's with a Serial# of 14408 or higher also were about the same year and have splined axles. But for the sure answer call RI at 1-800-255-2511 they can tell you everything about your Max, the year and where it was sold in most cases.

If you will insert any new serial number to your Max II/Max IV/Buffalo in order it will make it easier for other memebers to find the round about year of their Max.

Not to add more confusion, but the SS is a year 2000 & the serial number is so close in sequence AFTER yours, CBass, that they could be kissin'cousins.

He was the cheapest model they offered then (14hp & the axles were not splined). Whipper thinks they offered splined axles on the 16hp & 18 hp's, but not on the little girlie model like the SS used to be. Then he got put on steroids.

R.I. is the best place to check, but that's why I was scratching my head about Mel's Max II year, because mine is around 30 higher than that number & it is a 2000. The guy we bought it from had the Certificate of Origin from R.I. Maybe mine had special needs.
