My Max has a metal gas tank. Do not know it is original or not, will post pic later.
Previous owner grounded the tank and is used to help complete circut to lights.
How did I find that out you ask, knee bumped wire and lights came on !!
Question, does the metal gas tank get grounded.

I had a 88 maxll with a metal tank,It was not grounded.
All of the Max II's that I've had over the years never had the metal tanks grounded.

JP, could you say with confidence that it was original equiptment?
The wiring on this little beast was a hack job at best.

Had a Max IV with a metal tank which was not grounded. I dont recall seeing a place on the tank for a ground either. Maybe the guy was trying to save wire.![]()
