    Make sure you have no leaks in the fuel line.
    It could suck air in and cause it to stall until the line fills with fuel again.

    The ethanol in fuel these days takes a heavy toll on rubber hoses. I think its wise to change hoses every couple of years at least.

    Not sure how old your engine is but check that your fuel cut off solenoid is not on the fritz. (it is on the bottom of the bowl should have a single red wire running to it)
    I have seen one have intermittent failure where it would work fine for a couple min then close off and not work again until it sat for a while.

    Sounds like bad gas. Try some sea foam deep creep directly into the Carb. It should kill the motor and smoke. Add a can of sea foam to your tank. Sea foam will clean it right out. I never use gas with ethanol in it. I always use sea foam.
