    Max IV Tire Pressure

I just bought a Max IV with the factory 26" tires. First ride I peeled them off the rims 3 times. Was running them at 3 psi. Can anyone tell me the lowest psi I can get away with for decent ride quality and not blow them out every 1/2 hour?

    Hi

I have a MaxIV with 26" k rims I run about 2 lbs. air Last week end I was out
in some really bad stuff log piles, swamp etc. Got back with 3 flat tires one side I think it was from doing turns at a dead stop. I'll run more than 2lbs now in the really rough stuff and carry a small air compressor just in case.

I found that anything less than 3.5psi in the 26" Goodyears had the possibility of smacking the wheel when hitting a root etc.

I can run 0 psi with the ASX Vamps and will not bottom out on the wheel. However, I did puncture a side wall and the tire came off the bead on one side. I usually run 2.5 with them.

If you need to or decide to buy new rims try Matt O's beadlocks. I have 6 of them on my 950 Hustler and have yet to pop a bead. The tires I run are 25" Mudbugs at 1 psi and have had no trouble so far. I had the original Hustler rims on before and popped the 2 rears twice each in 3 months, while running 3psi in 22" rawhide III's. I even tried going to 5psi and that didn't help.
