    Magnum Clutch Rub

Having just installed my newly overhauled xmission, and installed the driven clutch which i only half disasembled to clean, I now find the running driven clutch opening far enough to rub against the idler sprocket. the new input shaft is the same length as old was , original spacer is between clutch and xmission, all looks same. ( did not remove any adjust spacers in center of clutch ) Could this be a result the clutch spring location in a hole other than # 2 ? What is the result of moving spring to other hole - i undrstand the tension would change but is to much tension such a bad thing ? any ideas would be appreciated.
