A long, long time ago I had a genset with an air cooled V4 Wisconsin. I put a mechanical press gauge on it. The port was on the side of the crankcase. Seems like there wasn't much pressure. There was a factory temp switch mounted on a cylinder head that would kill the magneto if it overheated. Hope this helps, good luck.
I believe the v4 has a pressure port plug near the filter. Had one in an old bobcat loader. if the engine has 2 drain plugs a temp sensor can be installed in one for oil temp. If I remember right the oil pressure is only about 15 psi. cold.
