      Things move a bit slowly in the winter for me, but I've actually been doing a lot of finishing up prep work on a bunch of Newt's parts before final assembly.

      Here's the lower tub with a polyethylene skid plate riveted on. There's a bit more molding of the plastic to be done on the front end at this point, but it's mostly complete. The center sprocket wells will get covered with steel to protect them.

      No grill yet! I'm not necessarily leaning towards originality on this project, but Bud Fischer does have a slightly beat-up original piece on his Newt to use as a mold. The ol' Starlight grill is an option though. It'd be a shame to have something as big and stupid as this without some god-awful *bling* hanging off the front...
