      That's a piece of vinyl siding hanging off his nose. Elsewhere on the beast is a piece of aluminum flashing, a couple chunks of Max II frame scabbed onto the inside and outside of the body, and some Great Stuff spray foam in a couple corners.

      Yes zip ties is most certainly how the upper and lower were attached by the factory.
