Haxco is short for Holtan Axle and Transmission co. in Wisconsin. They built small tractors & backhoes they put them in. They were also put in a few other vhicles like the Ramco Retiver, thats where this one came from, traded for it, looked like it had been sitting for the last 40 years, was in sad shape. They are a super strong tranny in something like an aatv or like what i built, 2 forward gears & rev. but they were a little light for the tractors & backhoes, it seems the splines tend to strip on the input shaft. Holtan went out of business in the early 80's kinda rare, i wish i had just one more.
