  • Belly drag

So other than tracks what can I do to help keep the belly from dragging in the soft stuff.
I've tried running 2psi and as much as 5 but that didn't seem to matter. I normally have the traction in the swamp just not enough ground clearance after the ground compacts a little.

I know it's a long shot but I would like to use it before winter.

Drive it like an argo. If your getting high centered, make your own trail. It will mow down trees EASY. IF you run in four wheler ruts your going to get hung up. Pick one side of the trail or the other! Hope that helps

Thats one thing I wish 6x6's had was more ground clearance. In my scrambler I have had to make my own trail because of the 4 wheeler trail-My own trail consisted of climbing up small trees till I was looking at the night sky and the trees were wedged between the body and inner rim stuck on the axle-Sure I winched out no problem but the 4 wheeler guys all said I was ruining the property owners land.My scrambler is no match for an argo and I know those 4 wheelers could not climb thoses tree the way my scrambler did.In fact They would not even try-they would have been nocked off there rides 5 feet in!

I typically try to zig zag the trail so that I'm rarely running with the ruts, but rather riding over the tops of them. there is of course the turn every once and a while to zig (or zag) back the other way where you are lined up with the rut, and sometimes they will just suck you in, but the majority of the time I have good luck with this method

it shouldnt be a long shot to get your argo to work in the fall (or any time of year) Can you run tracks? That will help emesly and smooth out the ride. What terain is geting you hung up in?

Im working on saving up for a set of tracks, Im getting stuck in soft/wet bogs. I try to stay on the edges and go around the nasty parts, but when i look at my path, by tires are have dug way down into the weeds/mud.

I did my usual moose run this year w/out tracks for the first time as an experiment. Got stuck (high centered in the 4 wheeler ruts) more than ever. The only plus side was added overall manuverability and increased ground speed on the non-bog stretches. Definitely rode the edge and the center mound when I could and punched a parallel trail when I couldn't. Did get to test the new winch some!

try dropping your tire pressure it may help you to float better. make sure you take along a can of eather (to reseat the bead) and a bycle pump (way to air your tire back up). as a prep for getting tracks your going to need wheel spacers Adair has some VERY NICE ONES for about 35 dollars each.. (cheaper than from argo). The wider stance will make it harder for you to get high centered in ruts too.
