Argo 1980 Transmission Please Help!

Hello i recently bought a 1980's i believe, Argocat but after a little time of use around the fields it started jumping out of gear and now when its in reverse it grinds and slips, when i got it i checked the oil and btw i have never had one before and didn't notice the level on the dipstick in the transmission and i added some oil to be safe but later on it blew it out the side so i put the cap back on and found the mark on the stick and i have filled it back to it correct level.

I know ive properly messed up the gear box but any ideas

In the end it was just the bearing that had gone which was allowing the shaft to move up which made it slip.
