+ You will always come home clean...except maybe muddy boots from winching out your friends.

My Argo is always clean like your Polaris is after every outing. I always do the chains, frequently grease the nipples. There is a maint schedule for the fluids as well...I wanna say 25/50 hrs kinda thing.

The only problem I have ever encountered was snapping a throttle cable out in the bush. I should have seen it coming.

Have fun...I'm picking up the same unit!

    rangecreekdude ,

You have made the right choice to enter the world of ampibs , because when you own one , you will be able to go places you never could with your Polaris . I used to own a Polaris 500 Sportsman when they first came out , and I loved the cushy ,4-wheel , independent suspension . But , since owning an amphibious 6x6 machine in 2003 ,,I will never go back to a 4-wheeler again . I can just about go down any trail made by a big tire 4-wheeler , but they can not follow me ,when the trail gets beyond their ability to continue . Also , when you get your Argo ,, you will be able to amaze your friends , that still own 4-wheelers .

What I do on all of my machines is keep the inner and outter wheel bearings greased with marine grease, keep the chains lubed, and change the fluids in the engine and transmission as scheduled, along with any filters that may need replacing and you will be in good shape. Congrats and welcome to the amphibious world!

I am very new to the world of AATV's and have been spending my spare time learning everything I can about them. I have driven and owned Polaris Sportsman's for about 8 years now and am taking the plunge into the AATV world. With the limitations the Polaris has in very rough and wet terrains I am excited to explore new territories. My only remaining question is about expected maintenance. I keep very good care of the Polaris's with regular scheduled maintenance and always making sure I have a clean machine when I returned home from a weekend of outdoors, and have yet to encounter any mechanical issues at all. I have already made up my mind on the purchase of the ARGO and the dealer tells me that they are very reliable machines. Anybody care to share with me their experience with cost or type of maintenance issues I am headed for. Thank you in advance for your comments.
